| The items from the Royal Irish Academy's MS12 Q13 manuscript are transcriptions of a number of worksongs from the collector and writer Proinsias Ó Catháin. These transcriptions formed part of an essay for a competition organised by the RIA between 1873-1876 on the state of the Irish language in Ulster. Ó Catháin's essay was selected as the winning entry. |
