| Petrie credits this drinking song to Eoghan Rua Ó Suilleabháin. He gives only the chorus in Gaelic, translating the verses into English. Several versions were transcribed in the twentieth century including: Eibhlin Bean Mhic Choisdealbha, Amhrain Mhuighe Seola (1923) and An Roinn Oideachais (Dublin: Dept of Education, 1976). There is no early printed version of the full text in Irish. |
